How to Make Spearmint Lemonade
Totally refreshing and relaxing. Ultimate rehydration after a big night out or a day outdoors. Enjoy this natural spearmint lemonade made with only 3 ingredients + water, sugar free recipe. In lieu of sugar, honey or stevia can be used.
This recipe pairs well with Indian and Moroccan food, with it's refreshing and cleansing taste, it's a great drink to serve during the day or night. Being caffeine free you can indulge!
Spearmint Lemonade Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 cups of water
- 2 teaspoons of spearmint tea
- 1/2 cup of lemon juice
- 1/3 cup of honey
- Ice cubes
- 3 slices of lemon
- 1 mint sprig
- 5 mint leaves shredded tiny pieces
Method
- Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan.
- Add 2 spoons of spearmint loose leaf to the boiling water and let it steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea leaves and let the tea cool down.
- Pour the tea into a pitcher, add sliced lemon and stir.
- Add 1/2 cup of lemon juice and 1/3 cup of honey to the tea.
- Stir until the honey is dissolved.
- Add the shredded fresh mint, stir.
- Add ice cubes and serve.
- Decorate with the mint sprig.
Chef's Tip
Want bubbly lemonade? Make the spearmint tea in concentrated form and add soda water to the pitcher to make up the balance of liquid. E.g. 20% concentrated tea + 80% soda water.
