Hibiscus Tea Recipe - Hibiscus Smoothie
Hibiscus tea is a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of recipes. Here's an easy one that's delicious and so good for you. You add or can substitute the spinach for almond milk or another nut milk for added protein. We love coconut milk and will often use this, minus the spinach.
Ingredients
- 1 heaped teaspoon loose leaf hibiscus tea
- 180-250ml filtered boiling water
- 1/2 cup frozen berries
- 1 banana
- 1 handful spinach
- Optional: 1/4 cup almond milk or coconut milk
- Optional: 1/8 teaspoon stevia
- Optional: 2 sweet strawberries sliced thin to top (yummy!)
Method
- Brew hibiscus tea according to the package directions and allow it to cool.
- Combine the cooled tea with frozen berries, a banana, and a handful of spinach in a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy for a nutritious and delicious smoothie.
