Chic French Earl Grey Iced Tea

How to Make Earl Grey Iced Tea

This recipe can be used for French Earl Grey Tea or Earl Grey Tea.

The difference between the two teas are the addition of florals, French earl grey has blue cornflower, rose petals and calendula. Personally, my favourite is French Earl Grey, it has the most beautiful flavour and fragrance, I believe the addition of these extra florals really makes it an excellent ingredient to make incredible iced tea, cocktails, gin martini's and desserts.

This iced tea is easy to make and can be prepared the night before, left in the fridge to steep and chill.  You'll need three ingredients: Tea, Ice and Filtered Water.

Iced Tea Ingredients

  • Chic Earl French Earl Grey Tea (1 teaspoon per cup of iced tea)
  • Filtered water, boiled 250ml per person
  • Ice

Optional: 1-2 slices of blood orange or lemon.

Optional: Add 1/2 glass of high quality orange juice to your pitcher! This image is Earl Grey Iced Tea with 1/2 glass blood orange juice added.

Method 1

  • Boil water
  • Place tea leaves in cup or jug
  • Pour over hot water
  • Cover and steep 3-5 minutes, longer will a stronger brew
  • Strain and serve in glass with ice and slice of lemon

Method 2

In a hurry? Try this:

  • Boil water
  • Place tea leaves in a cup
  • Add 100ml water, allow to cool
  • Top up with filtered water at room temperature
  • Strain and serve in glass with ice and slice of lemon or sprig of mint

Method #2 is faster as there's less water to boil and cool.
