 Hibiscus Martini Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 heaped teaspoon of hibiscus tea
  • 150ml filtered boiling water (hot)
  • 1 shot of gin (30ml)
  • 1 shot of sweet vermouth (30ml)
  • 1 shot of Campari (30ml)
  • Ice to taste
  • Orange twist for garnish
  • Serve in crystal glass at least 330ml size 

Method

  • Boil water, pour into cup and add hibiscus tea, stir well.
  • Allow to steep until cool.
  • Fill a mixing glass with ice, add the gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari.
  • Add a splash of the cooled hibiscus tea and stir well.
  • Strain the mixture into a new glass filled with ice.
  • Garnish with an orange twist.

Note: You can make the hibiscus tea the day before in a larger quantity and chill in the fridge overnight. Leave the flower petals in until you are ready to use it, as it will maximise the beautiful flavour from the hibiscus.
